chaosweb updates

I took some time off from posting to solve a technical issue involving the way photographs display on chaosweb. Problem solved, posts should start showing up again.

Also, as an experiment, I’m opening up commenting functions. For now at least, all comments have to be approved. I’m doing this mostly for the many readers from around the world who come back for the travel posts.

As always, if you’d like to contact me directly, use the email link in the upper right column on this page.

chaosweb mobile

I’ve added some code to provide a mobile version of chaosweb that easily fits on a cellphone screen. You don’t have to do anything special, it should just magically appear:

mobile chaosweb

If you have a very good phone web browser (like on the iphone and palm pre) and would rather see the regular version of the page, just wander to the bottom of the mobile page and there’s an option to do just that:

option to view regular page

Please use the mail link in the right column to let me know of any problems you see.

momentary lull

Sorry if you came by looking for the rest of our Death Valley pictures. I got sidetracked today by the task of finishing my taxes. I promise I’ll have ‘em up sometime tomorrow.

The number of ways to file your taxes online grows every year, but old fogey that I am, I’m used to using TurboTax. If you are too, it might interest you to know you can use TurboTax Online Deluxe if you have an online savings account with State Farm Bank. You don’t have to keep much money in there to use that feature.

Site update

I’ve updated the software used to run this site. Please let me know if you notice any problems. You can click on the “email me” link in the right column just under the search box. Thanks!

Updates, schmupdates

Sorry for the long delay in getting new things in here. I’ve held off until I could get the software running my site updated.

New posts are imminent…

Us on YouTube

I’ve posted our vacation videos on YouTube. You can see them on the YouTube site by going here:

Or you can view them here on the Chaosweb site:

(By the way, I have a couple of projects to finish up for our trip: I’ll be putting up the edited photos in the gallery and writing reviews of the hotels, services and gadgets we used.)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!! …and an appeal

  Header - Christmas strip

Tom and I, along with all our animals want to wish you the very happiest holiday season and best wishes for the coming year.

One of the best things about the season, is that, among the consumption of things and calories, many of us take a moment to remember to help those less fortunate and those in need. If it’s not too presumptuous, we’d like to suggest these two very worthy organizations. Remember when donating via the web, you can donate as much or as a little as you want. Every $1 or $5 will add up to a great deal of help.

A quick hello

I was reminded recently that I had registered this domain ten years ago. An anniversary is as good a reason as any to redesign the place. I’m going to be running it as a blog now. Hopefully that will make it much easier for me to add new content much more often than I used to. Please do come back for a visit now and then!
